Planes, No Trains and an Automobile (Part 1) How It all Began.

10/08/2009 at 9:37 pm (Day in the life) ()

Where I live virtually everyone, no hyperbole here, learns to drive at 15 and has a license and a car the moment they turn 16. A few have to wait a day or two beyond their 16th birthday because the here DMV is closed on weekends and Wednesdays. And a fairly sizable number get a “hardship license” that allows them to receive a permit at 14 and a license at 15.

Not me. I didn’t even get a permit until I was 17. It took me two years to pass the test.

This is the story of how I leaned to drive.

My parents are of the school that 16 year-olds are too young to drive. I in almost all circumstances, Including mine, I have to agree. However, when it came time for my brother and I to learn, my normally permissive parents suddenly made a shift to controlling and overly protective parenting. At 15, they told us that 15 was too young to get a permit, at 16, 16 was too young for a permit let alone a license.

After long arguments we were both able to convince them to allow us to get permits. In my case, I was told that I could take the test a few months after getting the permit. But as the figurative d-day approached my parents began to revise their stance.

I was told that they would allow me to  take the test In the winter of my senior year. Let me put this tactfully, after 3 years of revised promises and new stances on drivers ed, I was PISSED OFF. And I let them know.

In what I can only believe was an attempt to appease my growing desire to get my license I was given a a large consolation prize. I got my first car, a Nissan Altima, as an early gift for my 18th Birthday. It was about 10 years old and I just loved it.

After no more than two weeks, my mother backed into my car while it was parked in our drive. The entire left rear of the car crumpled in around the rear wheel. The damages were estimated at 3,400 dollars. The car had only cost 3,000 dollars and because it was not yet insured we sat on the question of what to do with the Nissan for a month or so. Repair it or replace it, the car was a  net loss.

Well, we thought it was. However, the husband of one of my mother’s employees used to work in auto body repairs and he volunteered to hammer it out to the point that it would be at very least drivable. He did a great job.

So, after a month or two of car-less downtime, I was able to work on learning to drive around January. When I reminded my parents of their promise to let me take the test in winter, they changed the deadline to spring and then summer.

When  I left for college after that summer, I had  yet to receive my license. However my older brother was going to the same school so I was able to hitch rides with him. However he was a senior that year and so I knew that I would need to learn before my sophomore year. i told my parents this in no uncertain terms.

While I was at college my mother was driving the Nissan rather than her 1999 Ford Gas Guzzler. At the time she was doing this she didn’t tell me.  She thought that I might say no because she has had some driving troubles. These include,  backing into the Nissan, Backing into my father’s 4Runner, backing into my brother’s Nova, unknowingly driving over 100mph on the interstate and driving of of the road and into a culvert  because she was looking at a pasture of beefalo rather than the road.

Had she asked me for use of my car, I actully would have said yes because I would have figured that she would be extra careful driving a borrowed car. She didn’t ask me though and to be honest, I am still irked about what happened next.

A few weeks before Thanksgiving Holiday, my mother was leaving the hospital parking lot on the way home from work. She pulled out of the lot and right into an old and very sturdy Bronco parked on the side of the road. My Altima crumpled like a pop can while going a disturbingly slow 15mph.

Happy Thanksgiving to me! On one hand I was pissed that she wrecked my car and pissed that she hadn’t even asked me for permission to drive it.  On the other hand I was happy that no one was hurt. On a third hand I was glad that I didn’t have to worry about a car that could be destroyed at only 15mph.

I also wondered if this was some subconscious attempt to keep me from getting my license over the Winter Holiday as had been planned.  If so, It worked because I didn’t get another car until July of this year.

La Vida Vegan

09/08/2009 at 7:25 pm (Uncategorized)

I don’t believe that I have ever discussed my eating habits on MPS before. However it deserves attention I suppose because of somewhat unusual diet.

I have been a lacto-ovo-vegetarian since January of 2007 and was very committed to this diet.

I truly believe that humans have a social responsibility to protect the earth and all of it’s inhabitants by living simply and conscientiously. And that’s all I will say on that  topic in this post as I also understand that rhetoric of this nature can also be very off putting those who don’t follow a meat free diet.

Well, after two and a half years of vegetarianism, I have found the will power, inspiration and passion to finally become a vegan. I have tried a few times in the past and failed after just a few days and I was a bit reluctant to post this news right away. I didn’t want to write about this new chapter in my life and then find that I could not stick to it.

Well, I am writing to you from  under the dryer chair at my favorite salon.  I began my new vegan lifestyle on July 5th and I haven’t looked back. I feel great and I have already weight. Of course, living in a place as agro as my home town being vegan isn’t always a piece of cake but, you know I am learning fast.

Home again

13/07/2009 at 4:06 pm (Uncategorized)

I completed my first year of college week before last and between my brothers graduation, my final, moving back home and the rest of the end of the year madness, I haven’t had much time to blog.

I am home again and not a lot has been happening.

Well, I wrote that at the beginning of the summer and because I am a deadbeat, I never published it. In fact, I haven’t been a very nice blogger over the summer.

Fact is, I have been working  a lot and that means my life has been boring as heck.  A boring life means boring stories and events; which, in turn lead to a boring blog and a boring blog is a waste of your time.

I love you too much to waste your time.

But I do have some things brewing that will make for good blog  posts, so don’t delete me from your RSS just yet.

Graduation

Catch-up: the final instalment

We went to my brother’s college graduation. Oy Vey. That b*tch was long.

Dear university, don’t say that a ceremony will last two hours and then have it last nearly five hours. That’s wrong.

My legs were numb, my back was numb, my a** was numb.

Ugh.

I thought I had more to say on the subject but I guess not. Well congrats bro.

She bop! or the Fellowship of the C*ck Ring

13/05/2009 at 5:43 pm (Day in the life, Love life, friends) (, , , , , , )

A few weeks ago, Edu, Anthro, some of the girls and I were hanging in the hall. Edu made some comment about wanting to visit the local “adult store.” Apparently it was a joke, and to her chagrin, last  Wednesday the girls and I went to the shop.

Edu came up with the idea, but she was the most reluctant to go. So, she took along another girl from the hall for support. Anthro wanted to buy something but she was sort of embarrassed  so I promised to buy something with her. The last member of our little Fellowship of the Cock Ring was J.

J doesn’t normally roll with us . Frankly, she can be a bit “out there” , but she’s Anthro’s friend and Anthro invited her to come. She informed Anthro and I that she had  been wanting to buy a vibe for a long time. Apparently, J felt too embarrassed to buy a vibe on-line but felt comfortable doing it in public.

That seemed kinda backwards to me but whateves.

So we get to the store and try to seem  cool and mature. We all failed miserably, so rather than looking cool and composed, we blushed and giggled throughout the wide aray of vibes, dildos, bondage supplies and everybody’s personal fave, anal toys. Edu just about died. She said that she wouldn’t buy anything because she didn’t want to go to hell. Her wingman was a bit shy. She only bought a deck of cards with nekked men on them.

J got a rather violent looking vibe. something like this but more pokey…

Anthro got something along these lines.

And I got this baby…

I’ve tried it out once so far, and to be honest I am still a manual girl, but we will see if that changes as I learn to use it.

Doing Shots

12/05/2009 at 3:50 pm (School, friends) (, , , , , , )

Catching Up
I have been super busy. I’m gonna start catching up today by “backdating” posts, so to speak.

Saturday, May 2

I’m on my way to bed, I was going back to my room after brushing my teeth when I see Edu and Anthro hanging out in the hall next to Edu’s door.

“S,” Edu calls, “I still have your blue nail polish, lemme get it!” She was way too enthusiastic for 11:30 at night on the weekend before finals.

“What are you guys talking about?” Anthro asks.

“I loaned her my nail polish earlier this week.” I reply.

Edu comes back with polish in hand.

“What is that?” wonders Anthro.

“It’s the nail polish.”  Edu and I reply.

Anthro is trying to grab the small bottle of polish from Edu’s hand.

“I wanna see this.”

“She’s too drunk to do her nails.”

“I know. That’s why I wanna see it. How many  have you had tonight?”

She had 15 shots.” Says Edu. “I’m at ten.”

“Hey you forgot me.” I tease.

Haven’t had a sip since January. I have been being a good student and responsible person all year. That is wearing on me, it’s hard work being a good girl I am learning.

“Have some then.”

“What’dya have?”

“There’s SoCo, Malibu Coconut Rum, Captain Morgan’s and Peach Schnapps. And clean glasses on the table.”

All pretty gross. Me I am a fan of Champagne, Vodka, real Rum and Tequila. But I really need some fun.

I go in get a cool looking shot and fill it with Malibu. Anthro wants everyone to have it. She thinks it’s Nectar but she’s the only one that likes it.

I drink.

“Okay,”says Edu, “Now some SoCo.”

I drink.

“I wanna f*&k.”  Anthro says loud enough for the whole floor to hear.

“Want some help baby sitting her?” I ask.

“Yes, please.” Begs Edu.

“Let’s get her in your room so the RA won’t kill us.”

“No! I wanna F*&K!”

Well obviously, we weren’t going to let our little skank get her way but we did make a compromise.

If she would stop screaming about fucking at the top of her lungs, we would let her visit a few of the guys in our building. It worked. So we headed downstairs.

We missed the first elevator because she decided to sit down to wait and it took both Edu and me to stand her up. We get to the 1st boy’s door and knock. Its midnight thirty now. Edu and I are sure he is asleep. He was. Still, Anthro’s determination to see him gets him out of bed.

We hear the bar on the lock move. Edu and I run leaving Anthro to her own devices.

“Yeah,” boy whispers in a sleepy rasp.

“This is my friend Edu! She wanted to meet you!” Anthro joyfully declares, gesturing to the girl no longer at her side. She was too pissed to notice our departure.

Discovered and guilty for leaving our wasted friend we turn around.

“Hi?” he says.

“Hi, nice to meet you.” Edu blushes

“Sorry to bother you.” I add.

A few minutes later, we get back on our floor.

Anthro wants to meet the Horny Cowboy and his roomie.

We do not. He has a thing for Edu and we do not want to give him ideas.

Anthro slams on their door anyway.

Edu and I hide in the stairwell next to the boy’s side.

“Edu wants to see you.”

A boy comes out, looking for Edu.

“Which one is it?” She asks.

I can’t tell the two apart, I tell her this. So, with a fifty-fifty shot of seeing the creeper, she goes to check and to her chagrin, it’s the HC. And his sweats are doing a poor job of hiding the raging hard-on he has.

We try to convince him that Anthro just wanted to meet him and that she’s drunk, that we’re on our way there, and that he can go back to his room. But it’s not that easy. He stands across the lobby from us for about ten minutes, at full mast.

Finally, I get him to go. Anthro wants to watch a film.

Edu agrees. She says that we should stay in, get me “caught up” drunkenness wise and stay in her room for the night. We decide to watch Marley and Me and then Pineapple Express.

Anthro decides that we need to turn it in to a little party.  Edu says that if anybody is coming it will be the boy from the 3rd floor. I go with her, unaware of who we are supposed to be inviting. First, we go down the hall to see CJ, the nutter at the other end of the hall. She wasn’t around so we went to see the Horny Cowboy.

Of course he was ready to go anywhere with Edu. So, he came. When we meet back in the room, Anthro lets Edu know that HC is on his way.

Understandably, pissed Edu almost screams, “Why did you do that?”

“I thought you wanted us to.” Anthro says.

“No, I wanted you to get Boy from 3rd floor.”

“Oh.”

“Here,” I add, “I’m not drunk yet, Anthro you stay here. And I’ll go ask Boy from 3rd.”

So I knock on his door. He explains that he really needs to study. I go back to Edu’s room and explain. This means that it’s just going to be the HC and us girls.

We all a few quick shots before he comes by. By now I am really felling the booze.

He joins us and we sort of watch the movie. The HC sits in a chair clearly pondering his chances with Edu. And the three of us are giggling and working hard on getting drunker. And HC, sat in the chair watching three drunken girls roll around in nightclothes on a bed in a dark room.

Eventually Anthro left to go sleep in her bed, and then I left. Nothing happened between Horney Cowboy and Anthro of Horny Cowboy and me. I cannot comment on what happened between Edu and her stalker.

Aren’t you proud of me?

Hungover

11/05/2009 at 9:51 am (Day in the life, School, weekend) (, , , , , )

Catch Up

Sunday, May 3

Well my father came down to pick up some of my extra stuff so that moving out would be a bit less of a to-do.

That night, I got about an hour or maybe two of sleep. It was about 5:00 am when I left Edu’s room. And it was about 5:00 am when I quit drinking. When my father came over two hours later, I was still drunk.

Thank God, that parents believe what they want to believe. I told him I was up all night babysitting a drunk and that my lack of sleep had left me out of it.

He bought it. That day I had a bitch hangover. ‘Nough said
